Sight Tool Selection: 7 Options For Your Diy Gun Mod
We are currently only trying to use the MGW sight on the owner's Glock 44. We use it to mount the OEM Glock Bright Agent Sights which you can find here. These are angled so we used the MGW Angled Sight tool.
All models of Glocks are compatible with MGW Glock Sight adjusters, but some require an adapter shoe.
When changing the sights on a Glock pistol, it is very important to make sure you have the right tool. We recommend a Glock rear sight pusher like the one pictured on this page, or even the Wheeler Armorers pistol sight tool here (especially if you have more than just a Glock pistol) or the MGW Universal Sight Pro and MGW Rangemaster Universal Sight Tool : We also recommend a Real Avid 4-in-1 Glock armor removal tool like this one or similar for removing webs (you'll also need blue Locktite). The tool on this site is great after using it a few times and now I'm happy to pay twice as much as I did. It comes with a nice nylon zipper with cutouts to keep everything inside in place. It measures approximately 6 1/2 inches long, 4 inches high and 2 5/8 inches wide and is made of a solid block of aluminum. It has nylon tabs that compress anywhere metal touches the slide, it locks the slide down in four different positions, at the bottom of the top and on each side of the slide, and allows for a lot of adjustment. I don't usually post reviews so I don't know what else to say other than you won't regret buying this tool. Especially since you'll pay more to have a gunsmith install a bunch of sites for you. Read all the hype about it on YouTube, it really does a great job. Now after using it a few times I'd happily pay double.
I ordered it along with the tfx truglo brite site. After I saw Lenny demonstrate this in one of his videos, I started to change my mind. Let me tell you, I have no problem at all. It's a great tool, no lie. It removed the stock sights and installed the performance sights with no problem. Many have.

I found this target tool to be pretty cool. Works great, does what you need it to, and is priced right.
So far I've only used it once to remove the original sight and install the night vision. This really works, pays for itself instead of paying a used gunsmith. It works great and I wish I could use it more often, but at this point I don't need to substitute other sights. The instructions are good and easy to follow and the design of the storage bag is well thought out. Besides, it is a very good thing when you can witness such complex equipment. Kind of looking at a well made gun.
Used to replace the back of my G20 with a Hi-Viz Lightwave H30. This scene is cheap but very strong. The Hi-viz is great for sliding mirror waves, so I'm happy to have a scope with such a large rod to grip and get enough leverage to turn the knob and get the job done. But it's still small and light enough that you can easily take it anywhere and do a job, like helping to replace a friend's rearview mirror. It left no marks on my slides. I've put off replacing my sights for a while until I get this tool, but now I'm really looking to update my G40 and future G21 sights. Possibly the best value for screws around the sight. This purchase makes me feel smart and smug.

This is a great tool that is easy to use. I'm sure I'll use it in other projects where I need to delete or insert widgets. The factory frame and slide with rubber inserts are well protected from scratches and damage. The price is also cheaper than what I found on Amazon.
Truglo Sight Installation Tool, Tru Tg Tg970gr1 Glock Rear/front Sight Insatll
I just use it to replace my G22 and G27 sights with Trijicon HD. The tool works, but it's not easy. Removing the sight is a breeze, with a few turns of the handle the old sight pops out. However, installing new ones is hard work. I had to use a wrench to get the necessary leverage, I don't know how Lenny did it with his bare hands. I don't think I want to meet him in a dark alley. Even with a wrench, it's still real work, and the handle of the tool bites into the wrench. Regardless, I got the job done and highly recommend this handy tool.
I purchased one of these sights several years ago for my various caliber Glock pistols. I have installed several night vision goggles and it was a very easy process. Well worth the small investment. Having never had night vision, it took me less than 10 minutes. Using it with $9 digital calipers to make sure I'm evenly spaced on both sides of the slide's aiming hole, I consistently place my sights accurately without firing a shot. When I did a test fire it was perfectly on target. It comes with a very nice covered zipper. It is built on quality to tight tolerances. There is no sloppy play in tuning. There are several videos on YouTube that will demonstrate how easy this tool is to use. I highly recommend this tool.
I have been using one of these on several types of guns for over two years. It works great. The only comment I can make is: take your time, and if the sight does not move, make sure there are no screws, as sometimes happens. If it still won't budge, try heating it up with a heat gun, as some Loc-Tite can sometimes be used. Apply a little oil to the tool threads - it makes a big difference. Keep tools on the desktop if possible. I mount mine on a heavy block of wood that I can clamp to my bench woodworking vise (a woodworking vise works better for me than a bench vise because I can move my work closer to the workbench). I have had no negative experiences other than a missing plastic block on the back of my seat (the block was replaced free of charge). I will buy again.
